Sadly, B&M, a leading budget retailer, has started changing their product range to include more expensive items. While revenues grew by 3.8% to £4.5 billion due to new store openings, pre-tax profits drastically fell by 13% to £431 million as shoppers reduced spending and competitors lowered prices. Despite decreasing product prices to drive sales volume, this strategy reduced total sales value.
