💨 Abstract
Waitrose is trialing a new perk in nine branches, allowing shoppers to borrow a reusable coffee cup to redeem their free coffee. Shoppers have seven days to return the cup or face a £3 penalty. The trial aims to reduce plastic waste and is part of an updated loyalty scheme. Customers can also use their own cups. This move comes after previous changes to the free coffee offer and a trial of recyclable disposable cups.
