A medical examiner indicated in a pre-autopsy the day of his death she thought his leg and knee injuries were consistent with having been hit by a car. Unless evidence to the contrary emerges, the civil Guard has parked the idea he was run over. It is not clear how much evidence officers have at this moment to support this line of inquiry.
