Morgan Farr Varney, a 24-year-old prison officer at HMP Lindholme, was jailed for ten months after admitting to misconduct in public office. She was caught on CCTV sneaking into a cupboard with an inmate, with whom she had exchanged love letters. Despite training on anti-corruption and recognizing inmate manipulation, Varney fell in love with the inmate and continued their relationship even after being released on bail and resigning.
