💨 Abstract

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck the Greek islands of Crete and Rhodes, triggering tsunami fears and evacuations. The quake, with a depth of 62.5 kilometers, was centered near Kasos, and its shockwaves were felt as far as Israel. A second, smaller tremor followed, leading to a rare tsunami warning for Rhodes, Karpathos, and Kasos.
