💨 Abstract
Peter Sullivan has been cleared of the 1986 murder of Diane Sindall, for which he served 38 years in prison. Known as the "Beast of Birkenhead," Sullivan's conviction was quashed by the Court of Appeal after new DNA evidence excluded him from the crime. The Crown Prosecution Service acknowledged the new evidence, which led to Merseyside Police reopening the murder investigation.
