💨 Abstract

Francisco Severo Torres, 34, pleaded guilty to attempting to stab a flight attendant and open an emergency exit on a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston in March 2023. About 45 minutes into the flight, Torres, who had been behaving suspiciously near the exit, was confronted by a flight attendant. He then threatened to take over the plane and attacked the attendant with a broken metal spoon.
