💨 Abstract
A primary school in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, was evacuated after a pupil brought a World War II grenade to show and tell. During assembly, a student produced the grenade, and the headteacher, Jeanette Hart, secured it and called the police. Army explosives experts confirmed the grenade was safe. The incident prompted police to advise parents to check what their children bring to school, especially family heirlooms.
