đź’¨ Abstract
Over the last eight years, nearly 7,000 troops have been dismissed from the Armed Forces for drug use, with the Army alone discharging about 500 soldiers annually. The Rifles regiment has particularly high failure rates in compulsory drug tests. Cocaine is the most commonly used drug, followed by cannabis and ecstasy. The Ministry of Defence enforces a zero-tolerance policy and conducts regular drug tests to deter substance abuse, with severe consequences, including discharge, for violations.
