💨 Abstract
Under new UK rules, foreign nationals caught smuggling cannabis into Heathrow are immediately deported after having their drugs seized. This pilot scheme, involving the UK Border Force and National Crime Agency, aims to keep foreign criminals out of UK prisons and save taxpayer funds. It targets the influx of dangerous, synthetic Kush cannabis, which has claimed lives in West Africa and is now spreading globally. Smugglers, often enticed with free holidays and cash, are increasingly being intercepted.
