💨 Abstract

Children previously convicted of prostitution while being victims of grooming gangs may have their records quashed. The law has changed to recognize that under-18s in such cases were sexually exploited. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper acknowledged the need to address these historic cases, ensuring children aren't burdened with outdated criminal records. Nearly 300 cases have been re-examined, but the government will not conduct a full national inquiry.
