💨 Abstract
A senior police officer, Commander Julian Bennett, was fired for the second time after refusing to take a drugs test in 2020. Despite successfully appealing his initial dismissal, a fresh misconduct hearing found him guilty of gross misconduct. Bennett had been suspended on full pay since the incident. Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist expressed concern over the prolonged process and the waste of public funds.
