💨 Abstract
Police Constable Lorne Castle, twice decorated for bravery, was dismissed for "gross misconduct" after arresting a knife-wielding teenager who resisted arrest. Despite effectively managing a dangerous situation, Castle was sacked for failing to treat the suspect with "respect and courtesy." The boy was not injured, but Castle was ruined, placed on the police debarred list, and prevented from ever working with the police again.
