💨 Abstract
A plastic surgeon, Peter Brooks, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 22 years for attempting to murder a rival doctor, Graeme Perks. Brooks, dressed in camouflage, broke into Perks' home, spread petrol, and stabbed Perks, who survived critical injuries. Brooks's motive was a long-standing grudge and disciplinary issues involving Perks. During his trial, Brooks was on a hunger strike, claiming he would rather die than be imprisoned.
