💨 Abstract
Newcastle United is considering a £1bn-plus redevelopment project for St. James' Park, instead of just expanding. Plans include rebuilding the stadium as a multi-purpose venue with a capacity of 70,000 seats, either on the existing site or Leazes Park. Boss Eddie Howe expressed his preference for keeping the stadium's current city center location. The project, still in early stages, has not yet involved the council.
