💨 Abstract
West Ham United was fined £120,000 for homophobic chants by fans during a match against Chelsea in February. The chants, which lasted at least 40 seconds, were directed at Chelsea players and fans. The Football Association found that a significant number of West Ham supporters were involved in the "mass chanting." The club admitted responsibility and was criticized for not adequately preventing or addressing the abuse during the match.
