💨 Abstract
Michael Carrick has been fired as the head coach of Middlesbrough after failing to secure promotion in three attempts. Carrick, 43, took over in October 2022 and led the team to fourth place in his first full season, but poor finishes in the following seasons resulted in missed play-off opportunities. Despite having two years left on his contract, he was dismissed following a meeting with club owner Steve Gibson.
