David Beckham is set to be knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours, becoming Sir Beckham and his wife Victoria, Lady Beckham, becoming his 17th British footballer . Beckham joins an elite group of British football figures who have received similar honors, including Sir Stanley Matthews, Sir Bobby Charlton, and Sir Alex Ferguson. Brazilian legend Pelé was also honored with a knighthood.
