💨 Abstract
Microsoft is ending password storage in its Authenticator app, starting in June 2025. Users will no longer be able to save new passwords, auto-fill login details, or store passwords by August 2025. Microsoft urges users to export saved passwords and use browser-based password managers or other providers. The company, along with others like Google, is shifting towards passkeys, which offer stronger security compared to traditional passwords.
