💨 Abstract

Approximately 1,350 years ago, a lavishly clad 2.5-year-old boy was buried with numerous treasures in Mattsies, Bavaria. Among the artifacts: a sword, silk clothes, a golden cross, silver bracelets, and a piglet offering. The child is believed to have had blue eyes and light hair. DNA and radiocarbon dating helped to identify the appearance, death age, and death date.
