💨 Abstract

After a years-long legal battle, the Supreme Court of the UK has ruled that wild camping in specific areas of Dartmoor National Park is indeed permitted and aligned with public access rights. The disputed provision focused on the evolved interpretation of "open-air recreation" in the Dartmoor Commons Act 1985 to now include overnight camping, adopting a conduct code such as limit tents' size and the number of campers.
