💨 Abstract
David Burton, a 70-year-old pensioner, was barred from a Ryanair flight from Exeter to Faro due to a minor mark on his passport, which the airline deemed invalid. Despite having traveled with the passport without issues, Ryanair's strict document policy left him stranded and forced him to book a new, costly flight. He cleared security the next day with no issues. Ryanair maintained that his passport was damaged and thus not valid.
