KATRINA LESKANICH, born in Kansas, moved to the UK in 1976 and rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Katrina and the Waves. The band, formed in 1978, gained international success with hits like "Walking on Sunshine" (1985) and won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 with "Love Shine a Light," earning 227 points.
