đź’¨ Abstract
An international team of researchers has successfully captured the first-ever footage of a colossal squid in the deep sea, using a remotely operated submersible. The juvenile squid, about 1 foot long, was found at a depth of 1,968 feet in the South Atlantic Ocean. Adult colossal squids can reach up to 23 feet in length. The young squid is almost entirely transparent, while adults are dark red or purple.
