💨 Abstract
Yankees pitcher Clarke Schmidt was pulled after seven hitless innings, stopping a no-hit bid at 103 pitches. Manager Aaron Boone decided not to extend Schmidt's pitch count. After being lifted, Schmidt said Boone's decision was mutual. Baltimore's Gary Sánchez singled to start the eighth, ending the no-hitter attempt. Schmidt's performance set a new career high in pitches and extended his scoreless streak.
