💨 Abstract

Last week saw a modest increase in U.S. jobless claims, rising by 7,000 to 226,000, slightly above economist projections. The four-week average decreased by 500 to 220,750. The number of people collecting unemployment benefits increased to 1.97 million, the highest since 2021, reflecting ongoing economic uncertainty amidst U.S. trade policy concerns.
