💨 Abstract
On May 21, 2025, a fire severely damaged a $8.6 million, three-story mansion in Washington, D.C.'s Kalorama neighborhood. The home, owned by U.S. Navy Secretary John Phelan and his wife, was unoccupied and under renovation. The blaze, initially an electrical fire, reignited early the next morning, causing extensive damage.
