💨 Abstract
The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington is advocating for the restoration of $623,000 in operational funding and a $263,000 grant for the Jelleff Recreation Center, which were both cut from Mayor Bowser’s fiscal 2026 budget. The cuts threaten essential services for the hundreds of children who rely on the center for after-school programs, tutoring, and safe spaces, especially as it undergoes renovations.
