💨 Abstract
On July 3, 2025, at the National World War I Memorial, Senior Master Sgt. Matthew Misener of the Air Force Band played "Taps" for the 1,500th consecutive day, honoring World War I veterans and all American soldiers. The daily tradition, started in 2021, involves a bugler playing "Taps" at 5 p.m. irrespectively of weather or other incidents.
