💨 Abstract
The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) awarded 45 students from D.C. scholarships of up to $5,000 each. For the first time, the city agency provided this financial support to students who grew up participating in its programming. The scholarships aim to alleviate the financial burden of college tuition for these students, many of whom found refuge and opportunities in DPR’s facilities and programs.
