The Justice Department plans to pursue hate crime charges and seek the death penalty for Elias Rodriguez, accused of killing two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D.C. Rodriguez, who allegedly shouted anti-Israel statements, is currently in custody. Prosecutors need to prove his acts were motivated by antisemitism. Rodriguez faces initial charges of first-degree murder and using a firearm in the crime.
