đź’¨ Abstract
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is considering new restrictions on military helicopter flights near Reagan National Airport following a midair collision on January 29. On May 1, a similar incident with a military helicopter necessitated diversions of two commercial flights. The FAA disclosed that a crucial hotline between the airport and the Pentagon for coordinating aircraft has been non-functional since March 2022 and will be repaired.
