💨 Abstract
The Citizen Lab has found that a U.S.-backed Israeli company's spyware was used to target European journalists, including two from an Italian news site. This comes amidst questions about Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's government and its use of spyware against critics. The European Commission condemned any illegal data access. The spyware company, Paragon, whose tools were used to hack the journalists, insists it acts ethically.
