Sarajevo experienced severe fog and pollution on December 18, 2025, leading to flight cancellations, restricted outdoor activities, and slow traffic. The city's valley location traps polluted air, exacerbated by winter heating and transport emissions. Air quality was deemed "unhealthy" by IQAir, with residents wearing masks for protection.
