💨 Abstract
During May, WTOP celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by highlighting figures like Chef Edward Lee. Lee, known for blending Southern and Korean influences, moved from Brooklyn to Louisville and won a James Beard Award. His D.C. restaurant, SHIA, features a modern, eco-conscious seven-course tasting menu. Menu highlights include “Black Sesame Gooksu,” emphasizing Korean ingredients beyond barbecue. Lee aims to create innovative, sustainable Korean cuisine.
