💨 Abstract
On June 6, 2025, a former D.C. police lieutenant, Shane Lamond, was sentenced to 18 months in prison. He was convicted of obstructing justice and making false statements after leaking information about a Black Lives Matter banner burning investigation to Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio. Prosecutors claimed Lamond provided Tarrio with sensitive details, while his defense argued he was trying to gather intelligence.
