đź’¨ Abstract
Consumer Reports has found carcinogens in 100% of synthetic braiding hair samples tested, with lead and volatile organic compounds detected in nine out of 10 products. These chemicals can cause damage to the brain and immune system in adults, and more severe impacts on children's brain development and IQ points. The organization suggests reducing exposure by cutting down on wear time and extending periods between braiding events.
