đź’¨ Abstract
A D.C.-area dermatologist highlighted that one in three cancer patients, particularly Black women, might refuse treatment due to concerns about hair loss and skin rashes. Adam Friedman's study at health fairs revealed that many overestimate the frequency of these side effects, which can be mitigated by dermatologists. The research underscores the need for equitable education and better integration of dermatologists in cancer care teams.
