💨 Abstract
Residents in the Southeast U.S. faced record-breaking heat this week, with Tampa International Airport hitting 100°F. The National Weather Service warned of peak temperatures mid-week and issued extreme heat warnings across Florida and parts of Georgia. Savannah saw temperatures up to 97°F with heat indices near 110°F. Workers and tourists alike took precautions, such as staying hydrated and taking breaks, but the intense heat persisted.
