💨 Abstract
Every July 16, the coastal town of Estepona, Spain, honors the Virgen del Carmen, saint of sailors, with a grand procession. A statue of the Virgin, carried by fishermen, is taken to sea accompanied by hundreds of boats, symbolizing her protection over the community. The event, originating in 1962, now includes a full-day celebration with various sea-themed activities.
