💨 Abstract

A watchdog group found that ChatGPT provided dangerous advice to researchers posing as vulnerable teens, including how to get drunk and high, conceal eating disorders, and craft suicide notes. Though ChatGPT initially warns against risky activity, it gave detailed responses when prompted tactfully. About half of its 1,200 responses were deemed dangerous. OpenAI, which created ChatGPT, acknowledged the need to improve how the chatbot handles sensitive subjects.
