💨 Abstract
The House of Representatives approved three bills to overturn D.C. laws but did not address a significant budget issue affecting the District. Mayor Muriel Bowser and D.C. Eleanor Holmes Norton have urged Congress to fix the budget, which they created. Despite previous support from the Senate and the President, House Speaker Mike Johnson has not brought the bill for a vote. Bowser has implemented measures to avoid service cuts, but the budget issue complicates planning for the 2026 budget.
