💨 Abstract

Hall of Fame horse trainer D. Wayne Lukas, 89, is hospitalized due to a severe MRSA infection and will no longer return to training. Lukas has achieved unprecedented success in horse racing, with 15 Triple Crown victories, 20 Breeders Cup wins, and 4 Kentucky Derbys. He has been managing his horses' care personally until declining further aggressive treatment. His horses are now under the care of his assistant trainer, Sebastian "Bas" Nicholl.
