đź’¨ Abstract
Over the past two decades, the Chesapeake Bay's oyster population has significantly increased, tripling from 2.4 billion in 2004 to 7.6 billion adult oysters plus 5 billion young oysters by 2024. This recovery is attributed to better spat sets, reduced disease, and harvesting restrictions. Large-scale restoration sanctuaries have further aided this growth.
