💨 Abstract

Montgomery County Council member Evan Glass is introducing a bill to enhance cyclist safety by preventing cars from obstructing bike lanes. The proposal, backed by the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, aims to enforce existing rules in Rockville, Howard County, and D.C. to create a safe biking network. The bill follows reports of 59 cyclist crashes and one death in the first half of 2025. Public hearings are scheduled for September 30.
