💨 Abstract

Under new regulations imposed by the Trump administration, migrant children face prolonged separations from their families due to stringent requirements like DNA testing and income verification. As a result, children are spending an average of 217 days in shelters, compared to 35 days under the previous administration. Thousands of children from countries like Guatemala, Haiti, and Mexico are affected, awaiting family reunification amid complex legal and bureaucratic hurdles.
