💨 Abstract

Severe thunderstorms struck the DC area and St. Louis on May 16, 2025. In the DC region, two people died, and thousands were left without power due to downed trees and power lines. In St. Louis, at least four deaths were reported, with significant property damage including roofs torn off and buildings damaged. Authorities were conducting searches for injured or trapped individuals.
