💨 Abstract
In May 2025, Anthony Saccavino, a former New York City Fire Department chief, was sentenced to three years in prison. He admitted to running a bribery scheme where he accepted $190,000 to expedite fire safety inspections. Brian Cordasco, another chief involved, was sentenced to 20 months. The scandal occurred independently of Mayor Eric Adams' unrelated bribery case.
