💨 Abstract
A French court is set to deliver its verdict in a major child sex abuse case involving Dr. Joël Le Scouarnec, a 74-year-old former surgeon, accused of raping and sexually assaulting 299 children over two decades. The trial, which began in February, has highlighted systemic failures enabling his abuse. Despite an earlier conviction for child pornography in 2005, he continued to work, exploiting unconscious hospital patients.
