đź’¨ Abstract
The Republican-led Federal Trade Commission (FTC) voted to dismiss a lawsuit against PepsiCo filed by the previous Democratic-led commission. The lawsuit alleged PepsiCo provided unfair price advantages to Walmart using the 1936 Robinson-Patman Act. Current FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson criticized the lawsuit as a "political stunt," claiming it lacked substantial evidence. PepsiCo had denied the allegations, asserting they did not offer discriminatory discounts.
